You might remember that I took some engagement photos of Nikki & Clayton during our last visit to Hawaii. You might also remember that we missed the light on the beach by about a half hour & we ended up playing a round of mini-golf. I figured it would be a good idea to brave the wind and looming storms & give it another go. I’m so glad we did!

I’m sitting at Sea-Tac Airport en route to sunny (or at least warm) Hawaii for Sara & Matt’s wedding. The escape from Spokane couldn’t have come at a better time since it’s about to get heaps more snow.
Here are photos from Courtney’s “maternity” session. I put maternity in quotes since I don’t shoot traditional maternity portraits, but treat it more like a regular portrait session where the relationship between the family members is featured along with the bump. I think of it as more of a celebration of that time in their lives rather than a time to get close up photos of the belly.
This was an extra special session because Courtney’s a photographer herself. I always enjoy being able to talk shop while shooting. It didn’t matter much that the day was about as gray as could be & we had to dodge a few raindrops.
Congrats on the new addition guys! That’s one lucky little baby.
#18: Ominous.
We’ve had some crazy clouds the last week or so. Very interesting to photograph.
The other day Kelsey and her friend Hannah were outside blowing bubbles so I took a couple of minutes before her friend had to go home to take a few shots against the blue sky. I would probably change a few things next time, but not too bad for a quickie.
Set up info: flash on stand into reflective umbrella above the camera with a flash on a stand behind the girls as a separation light.
