I’m pretty excited to share this wedding that took place at the dairy barn turned wedding venue, the Pickering Barn in Issaquah, WA. I was so excited when I first met with Lindy and Mark & they told me they were getting married at the Pickering Barn since that’s one of the venues I’d wanted to shoot at for quite a while. It didn’t let me down at all. It gave me plenty of opportunity to flex my photography muscles & of course, Lindy & Mark were incredible to give me the creative leeway to create something special.

As amazing as everything was, the absolute highlight was Mark & Lindy’s first dance. They surprised EVERYONE by secretly taking tango lessons & putting on a show. As you can tell by the reactions in the pictures, everyone was astounded. The shock turned in to cheers, erupting as the music stopped. Nobody could tell the nerves they were feeling leading up to the surprise.

It was an amazing day that I was thrilled to be a part of. Thanks to Lindy & Mark for the opportunity!

Thanks to Kathryn Bradley for delaying her flight out of Seattle to be my second camera for the day.

#11: Tilt Shift Toy

One of the defining features of tilt shift photos is a small depth of field (lots of blurring) that makes photos of a large scale look like toy models. I kind of took that in a different direction here. Oh well, it’s funny to me. Reagan laughed at it too.

#12: Abstract Bokeh

Bokeh is the term for out of focus objects in a photo (usually the background). With my normal camera it’s pretty easy to accomplish. With an iPhone, with it’s automatic focus, it’s a little tougher. I had to trick the camera in to focusing on the background so the foreground would bokeh nicely. I’m really happy with the result.
