I’m excited to be able to share this wedding that I shot with the esteemed Gavin of Seim Photography in Ephrata, Washington. The wedding took place at Cave B Inn along the Columbia River in George, WA. The weather played havoc with us before finally clearing up right before the ceremony took place & left us with some amazing and dramatic clouds to use as backgrounds.
Jess & Mike are an amazing couple, so very sweet & in love with each other. That always makes my job as a photographer so much easier and leads to some great photos. Plus the reception was a party!
As usual seeing dad interact with his daughter was especially touching for me. In this case, it was especially touching since Jess was the oldest of 3 girls, just as I’m the dad of three little girls (who won’t always be so little). Every time it makes me think forward to how it will be for me to have that same interaction with my own babies when they come to that point.
On with the photos…

The first shot is a Killer Matt, and they just get better and better. Love the use of angles to work the building into the images.
agreed! the first shot is totally awesome and I would have never done a square crop myself but that really works well there! I also love that shot from an elevated point of view. Great work!
These are amazing. I love the shots of them dancing inside. Fantastic work.
I want those socks. Great job, you really made the most of the changing weather.
matt these shots are ace. especially the getting ready ones- love them.
Beautiful moments and details – I especially love the portrait of them under the chandelier :)
OMG! First of all I looove the shot of the socks haha, hilarious. And the location + the gorgeous couple!? You must’ve been in heaven.
The sky couldn’t have been more cool for that wedding. Its so dramatic and awesome!
Fantastic! I absolutely adore the outdoor pictures and your style of editing. Gorgeous details too.
I like the dancing sequence and that sky….aaaah! i really like the lighting of the last shot, too.
Oh Matt, these are gorgeous! The first one is just spectacular! Great job!
Lovely as always! That’s quite a setting. I love the last picture especially. The stormy weather, his expression and body language seem protective and a little fierce, and she just looks so sweet and dreamy. It’s a great combination.
Matt–I’ve been a huge fan of your work before I knew of you on SWPB–these are awesome dude.
you’re an exceptional photographer, Matt. The images of the couple from above are some of my favorite, as is the one of the groom crying as they danced together. And, um, I think you should offer that tree/reflection/landscape as a print and do a blog give-away (hint, hint, hint). It’s truly beautiful.
gotta love the groom’s sock choice :)
I love how you incorporate the landscape with your portraits. And the shoes dangling on the branch. Fabulous!
You’re going to be able to write a book soon Matt. How has the transition from Olympus to Nikon been for you? Noticing big differences?
Also, that shot of them staring off into the distance with the sun setting and the blue sky – one of a kind epic.
These are beautiful! You did a great job on all of them!
Love the air guitarist shot and the dance collage :-) Their venue was gorgeous and you captured it well for them.
I love the detail shots. You did an amazing job of capturing really unique perspectives.
matt.. your work is amazing! that is all :)
