• It seems to be doing just fine without me. :( so much for making it jealous & begging me to come back.

I had the pleasure of shooting a special portrait session for Isaura—special because her husband is serving in Afghanistan and has been there for nearly a year and she wanted to give him a birthday gift that he’d love (literally). It was a touching session because she can’t wait to see him again in a few months (and not just so he can help with the six (!) little ones they have running around! She ended up with a cute little album that she’s sending over to Afghanistan to remind her man who’s waiting for him to get home.

I’m fortunate to be surrounded by such great & helpful people. Big, big thanks to Alissa of Alissa Floyd Photography for letting me shoot this session in her studio which gave me so too many options. Thanks Alissa!

On with the photos. Click to see…

Her hubby will love these! Love her warm smile in the top center diptych. I’m just amazed she looks so relaxed as a mom of six!

Looks like that studio was a blast to work in. Someday…

Nice work – great lighting as usual Have you had a chance to try an F1.2 85mm on your D3 yet? Can’t imagine the shallow DOF that must provide at full frame.

  • Love the shoe shot. Good thinking.

  • You do great work Matt, and yes this would be a stellar gift for this guy. Awesome wife!

  • Awesome! I love the one with the shoes.

I was very surprised to find out the power of cameras. I have always captured my wife’s beauty without having anything fancy since I met her and this shoots just say what I see, she is really the most beautiful thing in my life and the gift was priceless and left me speechless when I received it in combat….. I am very pleased by the result of her and the fotographer’s work and details; it is by far the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me and for this and everything else…. I love her…
