Well, engagement season is fully under way. It’s been great fun getting to know my couples before their big day. Spending time together & getting some photos will make their wedding day so much easier for each of us to get what we need. They need to understand how I work & what I need from them and I get to know them better & find out what’s special about them.
The result: a relaxed couple, a better story, & better photos.
This time it’s Sara & Trevor. We had a really abbreviated session & spent most of it in the upstairs of Trevor’s parent’s barn. The light was stunning, a light breeze blew around, & of course the two of them do just fine in front of the camera, as you can see. I could have stayed in that one room for hours playing around with the light & textures that were there.
Since Sara is a photographer herself, after we were done I handed her my camera & had her take a shot of me. That’s the photo that’s currently my Facebook, Twitter, & Flickr avatar. Thanks Sara! I love the photo.

I had the opportunity last weekend to shoot the wedding of Jess & Mike last weekend with Ephrata photographer, Gavin Seim at the Cave B Inn in George, WA which is right next to the Gorge & overlooks the Columbia River. I just wanted to quickly share a few of the photos from the day. Bigger write-up & more photos will be forthcoming.
Remember, this is just a preview. I’ll have more photos coming that include some very special moments between Mike & Jess & their families.

I have the best job in the world & the best clients in the world. Last week I had the opportunity to hang out with Justin & Nicole and get some photos in the process. These 2 are great. They’re so at ease with each other so open to whatever I wanted to try which makes for great portraits. I’m so excited for their wedding this fall. Plus both Nicole & Justin are from the western side of the state (like me) so of course they’re great (Go Huskies!).

A couple of weeks back I had the opportunity to photograph a very sweet surprise birthday party. As the party was winding down, we headed out in to the lobby area and had a quick portrait session. Tons of fun & lots of people who care about the birthday girl! Here are a few shots from that night.
